And, even though they've been several steps behind Katya all season, Sam went along with Callen's hair-brained scheme for him to go alone to spring her trap rather than, I don't know, waiting for backup.

The NCIS franchise will be back to three series on CBS next season. The network has renewed veteran NCIS: Los Angeles for a 13th season and also has given a straight-to-series order to new offshoot NCIS: Hawaii, the first installment in the NCIS franchise with a female lead.

They will join the mothership NCIS series, which was recently renewed for next season, its 19th. The addition of NCIS: Hawaii will fill the void from the pending departure of NCIS: New Orleans, which is wrapping its seven-season run. All NCIS series are produced by CBS Studios.

With the pickup of NCIS: Hawaii, CBS will be launching new installments of its three biggest procedural drama franchises of the past two decades next season, CSI: Vegas, NCIS: Hawaii and FBI: International.

As Renée and Barrett check out, Gerald McRaney will be checking in on a full-time basis in his role as Retired Navy Admiral Hollace Kilbride, a recurring role he has been playing since 2014 which will now see him as a series regular. Of course, with the return of Linda Hunt, it is unclear at present exactly what his role will be in season 13. Maybe it will resemble that of Owen Granger (Miguel Ferrer), which was never filled following the death of the actor on January 19, 2017.

This has yet to be revealed, but at least 18, which was the number for the shortened season 12, and hopefully, as many as 24, which has been the usual number until COVID-19 cut seasons 11 and 12 short.

As NCIS: Los Angeles gears up for the kick-off to season 13, ET exclusively debuts the first official look at Hetty (Linda Hunt) in the upcoming premiere when she makes her official return to the Office of Special Projects. In the photo, Hetty and Callen (Chris O'Donnell) are engrossed in a serious conversation.

Viewers will recall Hetty was seen sporadically last season via brief virtual pop-ins as she kept busy with her mysterious secret mission. She did come back to the office in the season 12 finale to send Nell Jones off in a touching scene between the two colleagues.

The upcoming season will be without two longtime series regulars, Renee Felice Smith and Barrett Foa, both of whom exited in the season 12 finale. Gerald McRaney, who has recurred as Kilbride since season 6, was promoted to series regular.

NCIS: Los Angeles has been renewed for a 13th season. The series, a spinoff of the original NCIS, premiered on CBS in 2009 and has since run for 12 seasons. Starring Chris O' Donnell and LL Cool J, NCIS: LA explores the lives and ongoing cases of agents at Los Angeles' Office of Special Projects, a subgroup of the Naval Crime Investigative Service that deals specifically with dangerous, undercover assignments. While critical reception for the series has been a mixed bag, NCIS: LA has remained a fan-favorite among CBS's procedural dramas.

After a delay of one week due to the airing of FC Divisional Playoff Game, NCIS: Los Angeles season 13, episode 9, and season 13, episode 10 were supposed to air at a special time on January 23, 2022. The show has already suffered several delays over the past month, and you can expect this to continue due to other upcoming sporting events.

The synopsis for the ninth episode of season 13 was released almost two weeks prior. The episode is titled "Under the Influence." It will deal with the NCIS team's attempts to rescue the missing daughter of a U.S. Ambassador. The missing daughter is a famous social media influencer. This explains the clever naming of the episode.

Due to the delay, the most recent episode will follow the ninth episode immediately. CBS has also released the synopsis for the tenth episode of season 13, titled "Where Loyalties Lie." You can expect this to be a very intense episode. It will involve the death of a civilian scientist.

Much like the show it was spun off from, NCIS: Los Angeles has proven to be a consistent performer for CBS. The series, which first debuted all the way back in 2009, has run for 12 seasons, and was the first spin-off of the original NCIS. The characters were first introduced in a two-part NCIS episode that also served as a backdoor pilot for the new series. Since then, NCIS: Los Angeles has gone a long way toward proving that the NCIS formula can still work even when the original cast is removed from the equation.

As fans know, NCIS: Los Angeles follows the Office of Special Projects, an elite unit of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service that handles undercover missions. The show's leads, Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, play a pair of agents who are specialists in undercover work, and are supported by a team that includes an intelligence analyst, a hand-to-hand combat specialist, and other characters with very specific but highly useful skill sets. While season 12 is still ongoing at this time of writing, viewers already have their sights set on the next season ahead, and here's what we know so far.

In light of the show's success through 12 seasons, the probability that the show gets renewed for season 13 seems high. Even so, no official renewal has come down from CBS yet, and no premiere date has been scheduled for the show's next season.

One of the chief reasons that the NCIS shows have been such consistent performers for CBS is due to the fact that they know how to work within a well-established formula. Now, presuming that the show is renewed for another season, it would likely continue to take advantage of the dynamics it has already established among its sprawling cast. Barring any unannounced cast shakeups or onscreen plot developments, the show would continue to star O'Donnell and LL Cool J as Grisha "G." Callen and Sam Hanna, respectively, as well as Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Barrett Foa, Renée Felice Smith, Eric Christian Olsen, Medalion Rahimi, and Caleb Castille.

Given that Los Angeles is in the show's title, the Southern California setting is, also, unlikely to change, and the thrust of the show's action will continue to be focused on the team that viewers have already come to know and love. However, because the show's current season has yet to finish airing, there's a lot that's still up in the air heading into season 13. The show's main characters could be in a very different place when season 12 is over. That said, NCIS: Los Angeles has never been the kind of show that totally abandons its premise.

Even if things change over the remainder of season 12, season 13 will still have some of the usual, familiar elements that give the show it's identity, including undercover missions, witty banter, and in-depth looks at the show's major characters. The specifics may vary, but no matter what, if the show is renewed for another season, special agents Callen and Hanna are likely to continue bringing criminals to justice.

Don't break out your calendars just yet. While CBS has confirmed that NCIS: LA Season 14 is a thing, they haven't mentioned exactly when the new season will premiere. This is standard operating procedure for most TV networks, as they renew shows and then announce their full schedules at a later date.

To narrow the field further, eight of the existing 13 seasons have started in September. Season 12 began in November and Season 13 was even later in October, but those seasons were also part of the great TV scramble caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. With things starting to get back to normal in TV land, it's fairly likely Season 14 will return to normal and premiere in September 2022.

The huge question for next season is the fate of Linda Hunt's awesome operations manager Hetty. Hetty has had a very reduced presence on NCIS: Los Angeles recently, owing to Hunt being in her 70s (and still able to run circles around all of us). She's still listed as part of the main cast in the same CBS synopsis, so she's still going to be part of the show in some capacity. 041b061a72
